Different ages of a woman's life are accompanied by different experiences with regard to her intimacy and her sexuality. Many women who experience unpleasant symptoms do not like to talk about these issues, sometimes not even with their gynaecologist. They can be ashamed and think that they are the only ones going through these issues. In fact, all of these symptoms are quite common in women of different ages and tend to worsen over time. That means that they are not temporary and they are not going to disappear if not treated.
The Juliet laser treatment is the gentle solution to rejuvenate your femininity. Fast, painless and safe, with no downtime and no need of anaesthesia.
The Juliet treatment leads not only to a tightening of the internal vaginal walls, but it also involves specific functional changes, for example the regaining of functionality when treating for urinary incontinence and also the restoration of tissue metabolism in the case of vaginal atrophy.

Dr Michelle explained the treatment fully. I was sceptical at first whether this treatment would really work, as so many others don't. I attended the review appointment to express how happy I was with the results. I am now no longer suffering and I am symptom free from SUI.
Frequently Asked Questions
How confident can I be that this is safe?
There are a number of published clinical trials showing The Juliet’s effectiveness and safety record. These are available to you upon request. The Juliet is an erbium laser which has an excellent safety profile and the treatment has been available since 2009. Since then over 5 million patients have been successfully treated worldwide with no major side effects.
Is the treatment uncomfortable?
The treatment is well tolerated and no need for anaesthesia. You may experience a gentle warming sensation.
How soon after childbirth can I have treatment?
Three months post childbirth, please contact one of our gynaecology consultants who can assess your suitability.
What are the contraindictions?
Majority of women are fine to receive the Juliet treatment. You would need an up to date cervical smear, provide a negative pregnancy test and confirm you are not trying to conceive. You cannot have this treatment during your menstrual cycle.
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment itself takes 10-15 minutes.
How many treatments are necessary?
In most cases, satisfactory results can be obtained after the first session, with no need for further treatments. Depending on the severity of the symptoms however, a second treatment may be recommended after few months.
Are there any undesirable side effects?
No medical treatment is completely risk-free. Normally, this laser treatment has minimal complications. Potential side-effects can include an increase in temperature and febrile response in the first day following treatment and/or odorless vaginal secretions. These effects are temporary and usually disappear within one or two days.
Will this enable me to come off my hormone replacement therapy?
Your consultant will check how successful the treatment has been and analyse all the considerations that went into your HRT treatment plan to determine whether to reduce or conclude previous therapies.
I've tried pelvic floor exercises and hasn't worked, will Juliet be suitable?
Yes, The Juliet compliments this very well.
Which women can undergo a Juliet laser treatment?
In general, any women experiencing these symptoms and looking for a fast, non-surgical and discreet procedure can undergo a Juliet treatment. Before performing the treatment, your doctor will firstly rule out the presence of local or systemic diseases.
Can I return to work immediately after treatment?
Yes, it is recommended to wear a sanitary towel following the procedure but there are very few side effects.
When will I see improvements?
Depending on your symptoms, results can be seen in as little as 24 hours.
What do patients experience the days following the treatment?
You will be able to leave the clinic once your treatment is completed and can immediately resume a relatively normal lifestyle.
We do recommend you avoid strenuous exercise, hot tubs and sexual activity for 72 hours. Most patients experience minimal side effects and your Clinician will advise you on what to expect following your individualised treatment.
It is not uncommon to experience a watery pink discharge, feeling of increased sensitivity and a sensation of swelling or bruising within the vagina for a few days after treatment.
You will be advised who to contact if you have any concerns and our Clinical team will call you a couple of days after the treatment to ensure you are well.
I've had a tape operation for SUI and still have symptons, can I be treated?
Yes, in principle, but your doctor will confirm this. The laser works at a much more superficial depth than surgical intervention which means it would be perfectly safe should you be a suitable patient. To understand if you are a suitable patient, please head to our questionnaire online.
I'm a cancer survivor and have symptoms, am I suitable?
